Somewhat longish post..
OK, here is the deal. Our domain is Win2k. (I do not have admin rights on the domain) My department has a 2003 Terminal server (I am admin on the server) and we have purchased a handful of 2003 TS user CALs.
I have installed the Licensing server on the Terminal server and installed the licenses. However, even after rebooting, the event log still has event 1010, unable to locate a license server.
I have added this PC to the terminal servers computer group and the licensing server is active.
I have tried the defaultlicenseserver key in the registry, tried both name and IP address, and it still will not find the licensing server.
Finally, I think it odd that when I fire up terminal server licensing that the only licensing server it finds is our domain controller. Having read a few MSKB articles, it seems that Win2k domains should only look to domain controllers for TS licensing servers. However, 2003, I believe, doesn't have that requirement.
Am I screwed because this domain is a Win2k domain and hence must have my licenses installed on the domain controller where our licenses may be taken before we get a chance to grab them? Am I missing something?

When using Citrix or RDP, a user might experience the following message upon connection:

This issue can be resolved typically by removing a registry key and reconnecting to the RDP or Citrix server.
3 Steps total
Step 1: Open the registry editor
While logged in as an administrator, click 'start'> 'run'
In the 'open' field, type 'regedit.exe' and click 'ok.'
Step 2: Locate and delete the MSLicensing registry key
Navigate to HKLMSoftwareMicrosoft key. Export this key for backup purposes.

Find the 'MSLicensing' subkey and delete it.
Step 3: Retry your connection to Citrix/RDP
Once the key has been deleted, you can try to open the Citrix/RDP session in question again. Note that you do not have to close Internet Explorer (if accessing via this method).

I ran into this issue because I installed the RDS role for testing on the server I was attempting to connect to and after the allotted period of time (60 or 90 days) I had to have RDS licensing so it blocked any incoming connections due to licensing. I simply removed the role, rebooted and was able to log in via RDP.
